CONRAD HILTON FIELD 3916 SOUTH WESTERN AVENUE (39TH & WESTERN), HOME OF SOUTH LOS ANGELES MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. LITTLE LEAGUE. This used to be a vacant lot and has turned into the community's "Field of Dreams." The state of the art facility is one of a kind.
Everyone has played little league, right???? As simple as that sounds the answer for most urban folk is no. What they thought was little league was really park & rec. baseball themed after little league. Tell me it a'int so........ Following the riots of '92 companies and organizations started scrambling and playing catch-up. Little League, Inc. had the common-sense to put it's first franchise in an urban landscape in South Los Angeles.
A commitment of 5 state of the art facilities across the nation was created. In addition to South Los Angeles Martin Luther King, Jr. Little League, there is Harlem, NY and Wrigley, LA (site of the old Wrigley Field on 42nd & San Pedro).
What's all the fuss about. It's about opportunity and being the best. For the first time, our youth have a shot of going to Williamsport while participating in all of the protocol and development that other litle league franchises enjoy.
You will find this site enjoyable.
