Professor William Payne had tremendous impact on Allensworth development, particularly its education system.  He left Allensworth in the early 20's and continued his great educational career in Imperial County.

Like the Colonel and many other Allensworth pioneers, Professor Payne and his wife, are bured at Angelus-Rosedale cemetary located in Los Angeles (Normandie Ave. & Washington St.).

The dynamic Oscar Overr seen in military attire became Allensworth's greatest landowner and was responsible for marketing Allensworth and its promises to those seeking a better life.
